My first Liebster Blog Award

It is my debut blog award and therefore very special. Visiting the blogosphere I saw you residence at renowned blog walls. I always coveted you to be mine someday. Always thought someday I will have one to my blog too. Seeing my friend bloggers nominations, my eyes always searched the list for my name secretly without even letting me know that I was looking for myself.

They say, you get what you are attracted for, what you dream for. So violating all boundaries of time and probabilities you reached me much before I expected you though craved for you. Thank you Kavya for giving me this privilege and a major morale boost. Also I thank all my dear readers who ushered me with “Liebster Blog Award”.

Liebster (the word means kindest, dearest, beloved, cute, endearing in German) is an award that you accept with an intention of paying it forward. Having received one I learnt that it is a blogger to blogger award and has a handing over tradition. This means that I can nominate my co bloggers and motivate others. This is a beautiful tradition and I appreciate this act.

While accepting the award you have to:
a. Post 11 things about yourself

b. Answer 11 questions set by the nominator

c. Choose 11 deserving bloggers meeting the criteria
d. Set 11 questions for them.
e. Inform the nominee by commenting on one of their posts.
You are not obligated to accept the award to send it forward. This is just a way to get a word out about new blogs that your followers may not know.

a. 11 things about Myself
1. I am a mallu (keralite) though I do not know Malyalam.
2. I am a Muslim with a Hindu name.
3. I am a part-time love guru..
4. I am nocturnal. My best works have been a result of my late night efforts (LOL)

b. Answer 11 questions set by the nominator

1. Since how many months/years have you been blogging? Feb 2011. Though on a serious note I would say just a month back.

2. How many close family members do you have as followers on your blog?
Two family members my wife and my brother. My best friends are not following me.

3. Has any family member/close friend been offended by what you might have written about them in your blog? You could elaborate if you wish. No.

Early mornings and sometimes late nights.

By the time you learn the art of promoting and searching readers for your blog you lose a great deal on the art of writing your blog. So try to create a balance between the two.

Many infact. They are still in the draft mode because I could nt feel the same as I felt when I wrote them.

As a person I have become more sensitive to the world around. I understand that m being read by others so I also feel the responsibility of not hurting someone’s sentiments and write in the right direction.

9. What is your ultimate blogging goal? Does it have a timeline?
No specific goals. But I feel over excited to imagine, down the line my children and grand-children will be reading me and tracing the phases of my life and the bygone era.

10. Do you have a friend who is also a blogger? Do you compete?
Yes I do have. No we don’t.

Chole Bature Fiasco - A Laughing Riot

My wife is a super specialist Chole Bature maker. Her art is so much recognized mutually that almost 100 % of our guest had Chole-Bature for dinner invites. If they are non-vegetarians they get to taste my dam biriyani else its a pure chole bature affair.

It was one fine afternoon when she decided to make Chole-Bature for lunch. I was excited as i usually get for anything that undergoes a deep frying ceremony. I love to hog on fried foods. So all excited i returned from office for lunch. As i grabbed on the very first Batura that came to my plate i was bit confused if it was really a batura. It almost felt like i was eating pappad with chole. My crispy tear of batura was a matter of avoiding eye contacts. I consoled myself that the next batura would be absolutely fine but it came out to be even a better pappad. Finally my dear wife could not hold her patience and agreed that something was wrong. I was eating chole-pappad instead of chole bature. Both of us laughed our guts out. Subsequently she decided to make mattri out of the same dough to consume it in a more useful manner. But that too did nt help her. All i remember is that those alternative mattri rented my kitchen shelf for a couple of months due to non-consumption.

After the incident i started teasing my wife with a parody that both of us enjoy more than the chole-bature. I am sharing the lyrics you can humm it yourself.

Tere haatho mein woh jadu hai
Tere haatho mein woh jadu hai
Banana chahati ho kuch aur             ( i mean bature)
Kuch aur bann jata hai                     ( i mean pappad).

There are many more to add. Next on the list is faithful dosa that never left the surface of pan out of sheer love and fidelity.   Wafadar Dosa jisne tawe se sacha pyar kiya.. LOL
